No one leaves the game.

Today was Thanksgiving in the US, one of my favourite days of the year if only because it not only allows but encourages overindulgence in things like Turkey and pie, football and family time. This year I mostly neglected the football, choosing to focus on the family fun and getting my ass kicked in Boom Blox by my mother. While the sister was cooking a feast and the nephew was...being four, really.

It dawned on me a couple of days ago that this Thanksgiving will be my last Thanksgiving. For a while at least. This time next year I plan to be in a different country in a whole other hemisphere with my girl. Hell, by then we may even be married. A thought which still makes me laugh at times, because this time last year if you'd have asked me I would have told you for sure I will never marry and especially never switch countries! Funny how that went. At least I get some turkey sandwiches, stuffing and cranberry sauce for the rest of the week.

So, that was today. Turkey and pie and Boom Blox (rematch Saturday!). OH! And I found out my uncle got his wife pregnant. She's due in August or thereabouts. Kinda sad I won't be here for that, but not overly so. The rest of the week was taken up with work "training". A nearly unbearable waste of four hours a day. I've done this from-home job the last to years (not sure if I'm allowed to go into specifics about it in public) so it's all a lot of review. Unfortunately everyone else in the class are yacky joke makers that extend everything way longer than it need go. I can't think of anything more annoying than people repeating the same damnable jokes every day to get the same fake laugh out of the same people. Training goes two more days, meaning I start actual work (which means the dogs can't hang out on my bed all day as they do now and I can't play Plants Vs Zombies instead of pay attention to what's being said) Wednesday. My schedule for next week is crap. Eight hours in the three days, with five of them coming on Friday. Hopefully I'll get more of those heavy days in the coming weeks. Toss all the money under the mattress and pull it out for plane tickets and Visa fees.

And, just to have dumped everything here: I screwed up my Netflix list so no 100 Movie project flicks are available right away. I am, however, marathoning The X-Files. About 3/4 through season three right now. And I got George Carlin's posthumous biography Last Words. The first few chapters of that are painful and sad. He had a most fucked childhood. About halfway through that.
